Opening day for the farmers' market

The morning was chilly and a little wet but there were still a good number of customers at the first regular season Farmers' Market in Cabarrus County. I sent some pieces off to good homes and received some feedback on my work.

On Friday evening, we also made a trip out to Historic Gold Hill to catch the last bit of the bluegrass pick-up session and pick up pieces from Linda's Indigo Tea Market.

Some more

Our Highway 601 garden

At our previous home, a garden remains intact with herbs and low maintenance crops such as potatoes, garlic, onions, and soon to be butternut squash and sweet potatoes. There are also daffodils, clover, green onions and chives. Some serious weeding needs to happen this weekend, but it's thriving and looking beautiful.

The dill and cilantro returned from last season. The cilantro/coriander is flowering, which I've never seen before. The blooms are delicate and lovely.

Some new pieces

I was able to set up and shoot some pieces this morning before the sun came up. Some of the photos turned out okay, some did not turn out as I would have liked. I'm going to try to shoot some again tomorrow morning.

These are my favorite pieces that came out of the kiln, but I do have a few more pieces I'd like to show.

Photo booth fixings

After I purchased styrofoam pieces from Hobby Lobby, because the construction site dumpsters were to hold no luck last week, I thought...I bet a styrofoam cooler upside down would have worked perfect! You live and learn...

Down to the creek

I spent most of Saturday fixing up props for the photo booth. I am using Joy Tanner's directions posted awhile back on the Clay Club blog.

Sunday afternoon was spent wearing out the dogs and trying to find those little blue flowers we caught sight of last weekend since I brought the camera this trip.
